Marco P.L. Barizza

Italian Movie Director, Actor, Dialogue Writer | Script Consultant (Italian Language)

I am an Italian indie movie director and dialogue writer specializing in Italian-language screenplays and dialogue consultancy.
I work with writers, directors, and production teams who need authentic, natural, and character-driven Italian dialogue, whether for original projects, rewrites, or dialogue polish.
My focus is on spoken realism, rhythm, subtext, and emotional precision.
I have written and directed films and short films, and I regularly work on dialogue refinement, character consistency, and narrative flow, supporting both independent and commissioned projects.
I collaborate internationally, providing dialogue consultancy in Italian, while communicating professionally in English during development and production.

BIO
I am an Italian writer and dialogue specialist with a background in visual arts, performance, and narrative storytelling. I hold a degree in Visual Arts and Performing Arts from IUAV University of Venice, and I have further developed my craft through courses in genre writing, creative writing, and screenwriting.
Alongside my work as a writer, I have been active in theatre and cinema as an actor, taking part in stage productions as well as several film projects, and attending acting courses and professional seminars. This experience has strongly informed my approach to dialogue, character voice, and performance-driven writing.I have published comics as an author, short novels, and fiction, and I have worked on multiple screenplays for cinema. I have written and directed two short films, a medium-length film, and a feature film, developing projects that place dialogue, character psychology, and narrative structure at the center of the storytelling process.

Bonus / Personal NoteOutside of writing, I am an avid video game player, a passionate reader, and a lifelong music lover. My musical background spans punk, blues, industrial and dark wave, all the way to metal. I studied trumpet at the Conservatory of Venice and, during my university years, I also released a dark wave music track.I have been writing since my early teens, long before choosing storytelling as a profession. All of my cinematic work is set in the small coastal town where I live, Cavallino-Treporti, near Venice. Its natural landscapes and quiet, liminal atmosphere have become a recurring presence in my films, which aim to explore character and place as inseparable elements.I share my daily life with a dog named Orso (Bear), who reminds me that observation, patience, and rhythm are not only narrative tools, but ways of living.
